I am a WAHM of 2 awesome boys and a puppy face that I adore. I Live in a small town at the tip of southern Ontario, Canada! I am an artist at heart that specializes in freelance art and design. My favorite niche is the scrapbooking and crafting industry. But, I am open to other interesting opportunities. Currently I design many different scrapbook products for scrapbook retailers.

- How did you discover digital scrapbooking? (The story of how I got started)
After my second son was born, I had such a strong desire to be a “stay at home” mommy to my 2 boys. My husband completely supported by desire but, we both knew without some serious budgeting that it wouldn’t be able to happen for long.
I have always had the creativity bug! and shortly after I had my second son, Laine... I felt a strong desire to do something creative. That is when I started reading online about digital photography and photo editing. I stumbled on a website that introduced me to digital scrapbooking and from that day on, I was hooked! I dove in with both feet and soon became passionate about creating graphics, I knew that is what I was meant to do. I never dreamed that it would allow me to continue to stay at home with my children all these years. I am so excieted that my website FishScraps has been so incredibly successful!
I started my business from the bottom up, I have learned so much and now that I have been designing computer generated graphics for 6 years, I realize that I still love the creative freedom it allows me. I allow limited small business - commercial use of my graphics and I am so thrilled to know that other small business owners can use my products to make their own businesses better. I am blessed with emails from happy business owners on a regular basis and that truly makes what I do worth it, I get to enjoy the process of creating and help others succeed at the same time! I create graphics at 300dpi for maximum print quality, If you are a paper scrapbooker and like the value and variety of digital elements, print them out and try them on your traditional paper scrapped layouts.
- Do you print out your Digital Scrapbook Pages?
Yes, In fact I do! I love to hang them on the wall! I have yet to create a printed album though, at times my brain feels too scattered to get it all put together in the order that I want it to be in. Perhaps I need to change the method that I scrapbook! LOL I need to start scrapping in chronological order so that I can print out album by album and not have to worry about figuring out which to print and put in which album! Hehe, maybe one day!
- Do you Scrapbook with Paper? I would like to! I have only tried it once, I did like the process!! To tell you the truth, If I had a dedicated crafting room I just might take it up more often but, I don’t and I hate making messes that I have to clean up right away but, I love the look and feel of paper scrapbooks!

The story behind
the name FishScraps :

Everyone always asks
me this question. First thing that comes to mind is that maybe she just really
loves fish. LOL, this is not the case at all. I have had to flush many of my
kids goldfish down the toilet, simply because I fed them too much or, horribly
too little while trying to find a balance. Poor things! I vow to never have a
Fish in my home again. Also, I really have a strong dislike for most seafood. I
admit most of it I have not tried but, I have given Salmon, Shrimp and Tuna a
try. Tuna is good, I simply have to be in the right mood to eat it though! LOL
The rest, yuck!
Okay so, you are probably still wondering why in the world would I choose
FishScraps as a name for my business then, The total truth is, It just came to
me on a whim. My ultimate goal is to be wildly successful and remembered. I
desire to stand out in the crowd with not only my graphic design style but, the
name of my business. I was trying to think of original business names and kept
thinking back to products such as the "red bull" energy drink. The drink is not
really red, it has nothing to do with bulls but, the name sticks.
And this is how FishScraps came to be :)
